On a cozy December evening, the heart of Denham Springs came alive as neighbors and visitors bundled up, braving the chill for one of the city’s most beloved holiday traditions — Chefs Evening & Wine Tasting in the historic Antique Village. Hosted by Denham Springs Main Street, the event brought together 28 participating shops, 21 local restaurants, and 7 wines carefully selected for the occasion. Together, they created a festive experience that warmed spirits and showcased the best of our community — from local flavors to small-town hospitality.
Inside participating shops, shelves glittered with holiday décor while tables were lined with tasting stations offering savory dishes, sweet treats, and specialty bites unique to each local restaurant. Guests wandered from store to store, sipping and sampling as they shopped — a perfect blend of holiday cheer, community connection, and supporting local businesses.
One highlight of the evening included a meet-and-greet with Louisiana author Kelsey Lawson Rogers, signing copies of her Christmas rom-com Making Spirits Bright. Her book table, trimmed with festive décor and twinkling pink trees, captured the joy and excitement of the event — the perfect reminder that local creativity is alive and thriving here in Livingston Parish.
Meanwhile, on the sidewalks outside, cheerful volunteers and city safety teams directed foot traffic, ensuring the Village stayed bright and bustling well into the evening. Their smiling faces, reflective jackets, and glowing safety wands added a charming visual flair to the night — small examples of how many hands come together to make hometown events like this possible.
